One student's life on campus: the benefits

View Following one student's life on campus in a larger map ..             To some, living on a college campus is a recipe for distraction and therefore making it much more of a challenge to do well academically. Some students who stay at home are most likely have thoughts that due to there being so many students and events happening around there vicinity that they cannot get anything done academically because they will be drawn to those distractions. This fact is true in some cases but for some students, living on campus is actually beneficial to carving a path of great academic success as well as maintain a healthy state of mind. Furthermore, what really makes collage life beneficial is the actual areas a student visits and spends there time in.
In daily life the words benefit or beneficial are thrown around frequently. The word surely holds different meaning to different people. The classification for what beneficial means in a collage setting, is something that is beneficial that would give a person a healthy environment that promotes both socializing and education and several other traits on the side that would help boost both. Furthermore, in the context of this paper a healthy environment is categorized as being an environment with an equal balance of social and educationally benefiting properties to it. Meaning that it is not so social that it is actually a full blown party with so many people that any person trying to read a book would fail horribly in attempting to do so. On the other hand, it is not so study intense that a person’s mind crashes due to much being taught at once. Thus, environments that would fail as being healthy would be mostly house parties and sporting events such as the football games. Additionally, being academically successful would be categorized as maintaining a GPA of at least a 3.0 and above. Thus, the measure of success or failure would be anywhere below or above that GPA. Moreover, a healthy state of mind is being in a state where one is not depressed, mentally drained, or loneliness.
In the case of this project, there will be more of an emphasis on an individual student. The map will reveal locations of where this particular student spends his time the most during the school week and how those areas affect him mentally and physically. Moreover, there will be his own feedback on what benefits he feels he gets out of being in those areas and this will be compared and linked to scholarly sources.
By following this particular student, it can be concluded that living upon a campus is of great benefit as opposed to being a burden to finding balance academically and socially and overall keeping a decent grade point average, which is classified as having a 3.0 and above. Furthermore, by living on campus the student grants easier access to school buildings and resources that are not as easily accessible when living off campus, due to distance, time, and etc…  Such building or areas that the student has quick and easy access to are the dorms of Palo Verde West, the diner of Palo Verde Main, the Hayden library, and the Student Recreation Complex. Moreover, each of these areas provides the benefits of academic success and a healthy state of mind through the healthy atmosphere that is provided.  Furthermore, these areas do not have the same intended effect on every student at ASU. But through careful observation of the individual student that is being followed it will be revealed to have the intended outcomes that will be discussed on the annotations of each area of the map.
Conclusively, though that some students conception of living on campus may be thought of as negative, and some parts may very well might be so, through research and observations of one particular student that there are more positives that out way the negatives. The reasons for such positives are because of the benefits that living on campus holds. The biggest and most easily revealed is due to the many buildings as and the many functions these buildings and areas serve for the many students at the campus. The areas that the student resides in shows in a much narrower scope of how living on campus and going to the multiple areas sited by the map will actually be beneficial. This example could possibly be applied to every campus although they may not be identically the same. Furthermore, due to the fact that of following one student and is ultimately confined to the limited areas that he frequents this undeniably reveals that there are so many others areas on the campus for the various other students that would and can have the same benefits but just presented differently. In addition, the reason for why debating whether or not living on a college campus is beneficial is important because in our country college is arguably a vital part of life. Almost anyone needs a college degree in order to get a high paying job or a job at all. Thus, it is important to discuss what is the most effective way of attaining a college degree and one of the vital parts of college is ultimately living on a campus.
